Make Your Waves Glow!

Painting Translucent Waves with Soft Pastels

Translucency is one of the reasons why we are drawn to painting the waves. The light passing through the wave lights up the color! In this workshop you'll learn:

  • how to capture this beautiful light in the wave
  • how to use the wet underpainting technique to emphasize that glow
  • how to paint convincing (and glowing) foam and foam spray
  • how to use a photo as a starting point and develop more beautiful color and composition

This course starts with a quick Color Basics review to brush up on how Light affects Color.

"I have always admired your work, so I was thrilled to be able to take this class from you. Being a teacher, I can spot a good teacher a mile away, and you have what it takes to do that...you know how to break down the steps needed to get the lesson across to students and help them paint a successful painting. Thank you so much for offering this workshop!

Thank you again!"
