Independent Study Course

(includes 2 full demo videos and exercises)

Join me painting one of my favorite subjects - the coastal dunes! I'll walk you through the process of creating the textures of the sand, the volume in the grasses and capturing the character of the coastal landscape. You'll learn the differences in the daytime and evening color palette of the beach landscape.

We will practice painting this subject using different techniques: working directly on toned paper and using the wet underpainting.

We will start with a shorter demo - a more simple exercise which will prepare you for painting sand and grasses. Then we'll move on to more complex compositions.

This is an Independent Study course, which makes it easier to fit it in your schedule.

Teachable.com course platform provides unlimited time access to this course - you'll have many years to master the techniques I teach.

What my students are saying about this course and my classes and workshops:

"Hi Lana,
I wanted to let you know that you are one of the best instructors that I’ve had. You take the time to thoroughly explain not only what you are doing but why you are doing it. I appreciate how you constantly reference color theory and explain the steps as you progress from start to completion. All of your classes that I have purchased are top notch. I actually feel like I’m learning the process and will be able to develop my own paintings. Thank you for sharing your talents and knowledge with us all!

"I have always admired your work, so I was thrilled to be able to take this class from you. Being a teacher, I can spot a good teacher a mile away, and you have what it takes to do that...you know how to break down the steps needed to get the lesson across to students and help them paint a successful painting. Thank you so much for offering this workshop!

Thank you again!"
