Crashing Waves & Rocky Coastline

with Soft Pastels

Waves crashing against the rocks is one of the most interesting subjects to paint if you love the ocean! In this course, you will learn how to capture the energy of the crashing waves, their airy foam and mist picked up by the wind, the wet surface of the rocks sparkling in the bright sun..

The two main projects will let you compare the bright crisp coastal palette during the day and the softer and much warmer colors of the ocean and the shoreline in at the sunset.

A quick review of the Color Basics is provided so that you can be more confident with your color choices.
